Well, I've been working at Tech Ed now for 5 days. Two days to go. I managed to attend my first session today on ASP.NET 2.0 The rest of the time I have been proctoring in the Hands On Labs.
After a few teething problems, the labs are going really well. They are using this new Launchpad application which acts as a kind of “lab portal” that allows the students to find and start labs that they are interested in. It was written by Brad Ptolemy, a fellow MCT from Sydney that I run into from time to time when I am training.
It's been fun catching up with Mick, Victor, Anthony and Wayne who I mentioned in my earlier post. Wayne won 500 bucks in a draw of business cards - lucky bastard.
There are plenty of nice feature in ASP.NET 2.0 that I am looking forward to trying out. The most interesting thing from the session was the web part pages where your can basically write similar functionality that is built into SharePoint with just a few settings. End users can even move the web parts around through any browser. Very cool.
I am here for another 2 days then it's off to Toronto. I am really looking forward to that!
