square dotMark Daunt
Mark is the founder and principal consultant of Data Cogs Information Technology.

Mark hails from the town of Yorkton, in Saskatchewan, Canada. As a young man, he moved to the big city of Saskatoon where he eventually graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.

He has always had a passion for writing computer programs, but it didn’t seem to be an option for a career until - in 1992 - he took his first job in the industry as an ‘intern’ computer programmer for the Quebec government—a great opportunity to expand his French language skills and gain experience in programming.
He experienced the joy of writing software to control scientific experiments, in this case, to test the strength of road building materials.

Departing from programming for a short while, Mark completed a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Calgary and taught math, physics and computer science in the Rodeo Capital of Canada, beautiful Hanna, Alberta.

But, when the pace of rodeo town became too much for his Australian wife, they decided to move to her hometown of Brisbane, Australia in 1994. Looking to rediscover his career in computer programming, Mark became a Microsoft Certified Trainer and split his interests between software development and training.
At this time he developed an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic, MS Office (Access, Word, Excel), and Microsoft SQL Server, while becoming a skilled network engineer and obtaining more Microsoft certifications.

Mark started Data Cogs Information Technology in 1999. His specialist knowledge in Microsoft software development products such as .NET, BizTalk, SQL Server, and SharePoint and his skills as a trainer and developer ensure he is in high demand.
